GIVING BACK
Deep roots grow a legacy.
WHY WE GIVE
Long before Johnny became an arborist, the verse we cited on our wedding invitation said: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17).
Because we believe that everything we have has been given to us by God, and because it is our desire to teach our children by our example how to be "cheerful givers", Northshore Tree Experts will donate a percentage of our sales to charitable organizations that touch our hearts. This is not just a tree service to us - this is our legacy.

RVH is our local hospital that continues to gain sentimental value for our family. It's where Malachi was born, it's where Tyson has had numerous appointments and fabulous specialists support him, and it's where Maxwell spent 7 weeks in the NICU after being transferred from Mount Sinai. Currently, they are raising funds specifically for the NICU expansion. We are so very thankful for the care our son received there, but we know that this unit could benefit from some more room to maneuver in, as well as some privacy for parents during a very trying and emotional time of their lives. At the time of writing, they are currently running a 50/50 draw, so it's an excellent time to consider supporting them in reaching their goal!

Envisage provides support to anyone facing unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy related difficulty. This is an invaluable resource to many women and families in our local area, and we are so happy they exist.
As many of you know, our son Tyson was adopted. With only the limited amount of information we have on his social history, it's quite clear that his birth mother and father had every excuse in the world to make a different choice, but they didn't. And because of that, we have our beautiful boy. There are so many reasons to be thankful that there's a safe place like this in our community for women to receive support and understanding, and children like Tyson are the biggest reasons of all.
HANDS AND FEET BARRIE
April 2024
Hands and Feet was supported by us because we live in the Northeast end of Barrie. We love our downtown, but we also can't pretend like there's not a lot of people who frequent it in need of some help. With that in mind, we chose to support Hands and Feet to help them meet the practical needs of those people.
In the last few years Hands and Feet has grown, and members of the group meet each Saturday from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm to hand out bagged lunches, clothing, shoes, drinks and the hope of Jesus Christ to those willing to hear and to be just an ear and listen to others share their lives. During the winter months they hand out gloves, hats, boots, blankets, sleeping bags, and tents to those in need living on the streets. They also drive around during the very cold nights handing out hot chocolate and coffees to those walking the streets with no home and no hope

OUR RESCUE (OPERATION UNDERGROUND RAILROAD)
May 2024
Since 2013, OUR Rescue, formerly known as Operation Underground Railroad, has been in the fight against child sexual exploitation and human trafficking worldwide. Although this is not a local charity, unfortunately this is far from a distant problem, and it's hard to think of a more worthy cause to support. If you haven't seen the film Sound of Freedom yet we would highly recommend it as it shares the story of this organization's founder, and really gives the audience an understanding of just how prevalent this evil is. If you'd like to help us stop it, please consider donating to OUR today!
ANNONYMOUS
June 2024
Sometimes in life, we come across people who just need a break, and that was the case for this month. For privacy we obviously cannot disclose more information, but we know the gift was much needed and even more appreciated.
Grace United Reformed Church & Emmanuel North Barrie
July 2024
Whatever your experience with church may be (or lack thereof), it has always been a place for people to come and receive help. We believe in the church's vital role to support the needs of it's congregation, and as part of two churches, we believe it is our responsibility to assist them in this - in loving our brothers and sisters in Christ as if they are exactly that; brothers and sisters! "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”John 13:34-35
